Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr Coordinator, Transportation to support transportation and logistics operations and manage backhaul tasks. The role emphasizes optimizing routes, maintaining accurate scheduling, and generating reports to drive efficiency.

The position requires strong communication, analytical skills, and experience in warehouse or logistics environments. Work is primarily in an office setting with some exposure to warehouse conditions, and compensation is based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of warehouse administrative or clerical experience.
• Prior logistics, transportation, and/or warehouse experience required.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls to resolve driver, sales representative, and customer issues; communicate route updates to drivers.
• Utilize systems (MS Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, etc.) to create, update, and distribute reports supporting transportation operations.
• Maintain and track transportation metrics (attendance, DVIRs, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch, trailer temp logs, route updates).
• Complete damages and shorts process, including vendor/driver communication and documentation.
• Support training and development of junior clerical teammates.
• Communicate key updates to support backhaul and transportation operations (arrival times, scheduling, service updates, delivery issues).
• Coordinate pickup appointments for backhaul orders and vendors.
• Optimize routing and scheduling to minimize cost while maintaining compliance.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and ensure accurate communication of logistics information.
• Research new backhaul opportunities to improve efficiency.
