The Transportation Technician IV leads field inspections on highway and bridge projects in North Carolina and supervises junior inspection staff to ensure safety and quality.

This role requires interpreting plans, tracking quantities, and maintaining records while coordinating with contractors, the public, and stakeholders to resolve field

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Survey Technology, or equivalent
• Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans
• Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
• Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems
• Thorough understanding of DOT Standards and Roadway Standard Drawings
• NCDOT certifications including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing preferred
• Experience with local clients preferred

Aufgaben

• Inspect contractor operations on roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications
• Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout construction
• Measure and track quantities of pay items
• Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries
• Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned
