Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to serve as the Owner’s representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects in California. The role ensures work is built per contract documents and coordinates with field inspectors and the project team to hit quality, timeline, and budget goals.

The position requires a BS in Civil Engineering, a California P.E., and 7+ years of contract management experience on roadway/bridge projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• California registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• 7+ years of construction contract management experience on roadway/bridge projects.
• Experience with CALTRANS/local agency projects and coordination on Federally funded projects desirable.

Responsibilities

• Represent Owner on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects.
• Ensure projects are built in accordance with contract documents.
• Coordinate with inspectors and project team to meet goals.
• Manage quality control and quality assurance.
• Oversee staff, contract administration, and project profitability.
• Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying.
• Prepare progress and final documentation per FHWA/state requirements.
• Lead weekly project meetings and utility coordination.
• Ensure EEO/labor compliance.
