UNICO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer in California to support Resident Engineers on transportation projects. 4+ years of experience is required; familiarity with Caltrans and local agency standards is essential.

You will attend client meetings, review plans and specs, and manage project documentation and budgets. The position emphasizes teamwork in a fast-growing firm with opportunities for advancement and competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant Construction Engineering experience, or 10 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and attend meetings with the Contractor, client agencies, and the public.
• Establish and maintain project records.
• Review and respond to RFIs and letters.
• Review and process submittals.
• Document and authorize payments for the project.
• Review the Contractor’s work for compliance.
• Review extra work and perform independent cost/time impact analyses.
• Participate in pre, mid, and post-construction reviews.
• Manage and forecast project budgets.
• Review and draft responses to NOPCs and claims.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Prepare final project closeout documents.
