Job summary

UNICO Engineering Inc. in California seeks a Resident Engineer to lead transportation construction projects as the owner's representative.

You will attend and run client/contractor meetings, review plans, and ensure compliance with contract documents, providing formal correspondence, RFI responses, and change orders. You will oversee field inspection and QA teams, directing staff and coordinating with agencies.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer in California.
• 10+ years of industry experience in a related discipline.
• 5 years managing construction projects or working as a resident engineer for a public agency.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clear DMV record.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner's representative to ensure project success.
• Attend and run client and contractor meetings; review plans and specs.
• Provide project documentation including letters, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Oversee field inspection and QA teams; supervise staff.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain project controls for cost and schedule.
