Job summary

UNICO Engineering Inc. is seeking a Resident Engineer to lead transportation construction projects in Southern California. You will act as the owner’s representative, run client and contractor meetings, and ensure plans meet specifications with thorough documentation.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, is a California-licensed PE, and can supervise field teams while coordinating cost and schedule controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer in California.
• 10+ years of industry experience in a related discipline.
• 5 years managing construction projects or resident engineer experience for a public agency.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner’s representative and lead client/contractor meetings.
• Review plans and specifications for compliance and maintain documentation.
• Oversee field inspection, staff, and project controls including cost and schedule.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies.
