Job summary

UNICO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Resident Engineer for transportation projects in Northern California. You will act as owner’s representative, lead client and contractor meetings, review plans, and ensure documentation compliance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in the industry, holds a CA PE, and can manage field construction activities with strong communication skills. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer in California.
• 10+ years of related industry experience.
• 5 years managing construction projects or as a resident engineer for a public agency.
• Valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Act as owner's representative, attend and run client and contractor meetings.
• Review plans and specifications and ensure compliance with documents.
• Provide project documentation: letters, RFIs, submittal responses, change orders, etc.
• Oversee field inspection and supervise inspection teams.
• Direct and supervise field construction activities and staff, office engineering, inspection, materials testing, and field contract administration.
• Liaise with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, design professionals, public involvement and regulators.
