Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to join our team of engineers delivering high-level utility designs for our clients. The role will manage projects from 34.5kV to 500kV, lead scope, estimates, schedules, and client communications, and grow toward account management.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop budgets, track milestones, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining QA/QC standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
• Ability to independently direct a team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians.
• Knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and integration into daily activities.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry standards.
• Understanding of industry design software.
• Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
• Manage the engineering and financial aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
• Prepare scope and estimates for proposals and statements of qualifications to utility clients.
• Develop project work plans and budget projections to effectively deploy people on project.
• Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics including backlog, work in process, and receivables.
• Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects.
• Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Manage and provide guidance for professional communication with stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs prior to submissions.
• Collaborate to develop and implement new policies reflecting best practices.
• Collaborate with other departments on company-wide initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and seek future opportunities.
