Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high‑voltage engineering design projects from 34.5kV to 500kV.

You will guide project teams, coordinate with clients, and support business development. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in transmission design or engineering management, strong communication, and the ability to manage schedules and budgets while delivering high‑quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
• 4+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
• Professional disposition and the ability to be open-minded when it comes to planning and execution of projects.
• Must be able to independently direct a team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work product quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
• Knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and understanding of its integration into daily activities.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards
• Understanding of industry design software.
• Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project)

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
• Manage the engineering and financial aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
• Prepare scope and estimates for proposals and statements of qualifications to utility clients.
• Develop project work plans and budget projections to effectively deploy people on project.
• Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics including backlog, work in process and account receivables.
• Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects.
• Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Provide guidance for professional communication with stakeholders.
• Coordinate design reviews with internal/external teams.
• Collaborate to develop and implement new policies reflecting best practices.
• Maintain relationships with clients and seek new opportunities.
