Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to lead a portfolio of transmission-focused engineering design projects and support business development goals.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in power transmission design and the ability to direct engineers and technicians while maintaining quality, schedule, and budgets. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with clients to expand Westwood’s growing power delivery services across voltages

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
• Ability to independently direct a team of engineers & engineering technicians while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of overhead & underground transmission facilities and their integration.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE standards.
• Understanding of industry design software.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
• Manage the engineering and financial aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
• Prepare scope and estimates for proposals and statements of qualifications to utility clients.
• Develop project work plans and budget projections to effectively deploy people on project.
• Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics including backlog, WIP, AR, revenue.
• Review, interpret and act upon business metrics including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivables
• Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects
• Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
• Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
• Collaborate with the department management to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
• Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.
