Job summary

1898 & Co., part of Burns & McDonnell, is seeking a Transmission Planning Project Manager to lead complex power-system studies and client engagements across North America.

You will manage scope, budget, and schedule; mentor engineers, build project teams, and develop business opportunities with utilities, ISOs, and developers.

The role requires a engineering degree and 5+ years in power systems consulting, with hands-on experience using PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, and ETAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and procedures.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Experience leading technical power-systems consulting engagements.

Responsibilities

• Business Development: cultivate client relationships, identify new opportunities, lead proposals and budgeting.
• Project Execution: manage scope, schedule, budget, quality and client communications.
• Leadership & Mentorship: train and mentor junior staff and promote technical excellence.
• Technical Responsibilities: perform advanced transmission planning studies and apply regulatory standards.
• Utilize tools like PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP, and Promod.
• Provide clear, actionable solutions to project stakeholders.
