Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join the Power Delivery Team. The role offers flexible work arrangements, including remote work or office-based options across the South-Central region.

You will provide technical leadership for planning, design, and delivery of high-voltage overhead transmission projects, and mentor staff while coordinating with clients and internal teams to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• 7-10 years’ experience in the transmission field of designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
• Understanding of the NESC,RUS, and/or GO-95.
• Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation.
• The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
• Create and maintain a project schedule.
• Coordinate with clients on project status and lead project meetings.
• Maintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-disciplinary projects.
• Forecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planning.
• Participate in industry conferences and knowledge transfer to colleagues.
• Demonstrate transmission line design expertise pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, structure loading, material procurement, construction specifications, construction methods, construction estimates, and construction support.
• Lead project teams of varying sizes.
