Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead overhead transmission design, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and interfacing with clients. The role emphasizes PLS-CADD proficiency, project planning, and strong communication across stakeholders.

The position supports a flexible schedule with options for full-time or part-time arrangements and offers opportunities to advance through client-facing project management and industry involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design.
• Strong command of English with good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
• At least 10 years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines.
• Extensive knowledge in PLS-CADD.
• Experience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the initial project execution layout to establish an efficient project plan.
• Manage engineers, drafters, and designers and interface with the client.
• Create and maintain project schedule and budget.
• Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to outline upcoming deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients on project status and support meetings.
• Maintain project workflow across multi-discipline projects.
• Forecast upcoming project requirements for resource planning.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures for correct reviews.
• Develop transmission line design knowledge including PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, drawings, procurement, and construction support.
• Project Manager support and status reporting.
