Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery Team. This role offers flexible work arrangements with the option to work remotely or from WSP offices across the Rocky Mountain region, including Bozeman, MT.

You will provide technical leadership for planning, design, and delivery of high‑voltage overhead transmission lines and mentor staff. The successful candidate will lead project engineering, coordinate with clients, maintain schedules, ensure QA/QC, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• 7-10 years’ experience in transmission field designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Professional Engineer licensure required.
• Understanding of NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95.
• Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
• Lead and/or support initial project execution layout for an efficient plan.
• Create and maintain a project schedule.
• Conduct weekly/bi-weekly project meetings with clear deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients on project status and meetings.
• Maintain project workflow across multi-disciplinary projects.
• Forecast upcoming project requirements for resource planning.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures.
• Participate in industry conferences for knowledge transfer.
• Demonstrate PLS-CADD design expertise and related tasks.
• Lead project teams of varying sizes.
• Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed.
• Support Project Manager with status reports, scope/schedule/budget, and client meetings.
• Develop client relationships to win future work.
• Support recruitment, business planning, and department improvements.
