WSP USA is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery Team. This role offers flexible work arrangements with remote options and office locations across the Rocky Mountain region, including Billings, MT.

You will provide technical leadership for planning, design, and delivery of high‑voltage overhead transmission projects up to 765 kV, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring staff while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
7–10 years in transmission field designing/managing projects.
Professional Engineer licensure (PE).
Familiarity with NESC, RUS, and GO-95.
Strong transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD knowledge.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Commitment to safety policies.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
Lead/coordinate initial project execution layout.
Create and maintain a project schedule.
Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings with clear action items.
Coordinate with clients on status and meetings.
Maintain cross-disciplinary project workflows and communication.
Forecast upcoming project requirements for resource planning.
Follow QA/QC procedures per WSP standards.
Engage in industry conferences for knowledge transfer.
Demonstrate design expertise including PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, drawings, and construction support.
Lead project teams of varying sizes.
Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed.
