Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join the Overhead Transmission Design team. This role offers flexible scheduling with full-time or part-time options and allows work from Southeast regional offices or remote/hybrid arrangements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in overhead HV/EHV transmission line design, PLS-CADD proficiency, and strong leadership skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams and interface with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design.
• Strong command of English with good written and oral communication.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
• Extensive knowledge in PLS-Cadd for transmission line design.
• Experience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the initial project execution layout to establish an efficient plan.
• Manage engineers, drafters, and designers and interface with the client.
• Create and maintain a project schedule and budget.
• Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to outline deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients on project status and meetings.
• Maintain project workflow and communication across multi-discipline projects.
• Forecast upcoming project requirements for resource planning.
• Facilitate QA/QC reviews to ensure proper QA/QC execution.
• Develop transmission line design knowledge including PLS-CADD.
• Provide PM support with client meetings and updates.
• Develop client relationships to position future work.
