Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join the Overhead Transmission Design team. You may work from any Southeast regional office (AL, GA, FL, NC, VA) or opt for remote/hybrid arrangements at a mutually agreed location.

This role offers a flexible work schedule with both full-time and part-time options. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, a Professional Engineer license, and 10+ years in overhead HV/EHV design with PLS‑CADD proficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Engineer license required (multi‑state preferred).
10+ years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering and civil design.
Strong command of English language with good written and oral communication.
Experience in overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission line design (route selection, line and structure spotting, design and analysis).
Extensive knowledge in PLS‑CADD and experience managing projects and multi‑discipline teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the initial project execution layout to establish an efficient project plan.
Manage engineers, drafters, and designers and interface directly with the client.
Create and maintain a project schedule and budget; conduct weekly/bi‑weekly progress meetings.
Coordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings.
Maintain workflow and communication across multi‑discipline projects; forecast requirements for resource planning.
Adhere to QA/QC procedures and participate in knowledge transfer activities.
