Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead complex design and analysis for utility clients, providing senior technical direction and mentoring junior engineers. This role emphasizes accurate deliverables, regulatory awareness, and cross‑discipline collaboration from concept to final design.

Fully remote from Puerto Rico with a focus on quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement, you will apply NESC/IEEE standards, perform conductor and clearance studies, and support project

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering.
• 5+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience working with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm.
• 5+ years of experience working in PLS-CADD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex transmission line designs from conceptual engineering through final design, including EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.
• Provide senior-level technical expertise and direction to design staff, ensuring technical accuracy and best practices.
• Perform studies such as conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance determinations per NESC and standards.
• Interpret and apply regulatory requirements including NERC, FERC, and regional standards across project deliverables.
• Prepare and review technical documentation such as specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
