Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. This 100% remote-based role is located in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits across the client’s service territory.

Open to candidates in nearby regions. You will design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46 kV to 345 kV, applying NESC, ASCE, and ACI standards, and prepare bidding documents, plans, and material packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Design electric utility transmission line systems for HV overhead and underground projects from 46kV to 345 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and material procurement/construction packages.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
