Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on high‑voltage transmission projects from 46kV to 345kV. You will design overhead and underground systems, apply NESC/ASCE/ACI standards, and prepare bidding documents, plans, specs, and procurement materials.

Remote work is supported, based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits across the client’s service territory; travel to project sites in the Lower Peninsula, Northern Indiana, and Toledo

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; 4+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE standards; material procurement; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work in team environment but also independently.
• Willingness to travel for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345 kV.
• Apply standards in engineering and design; prepare bidding documents; plans and specs.
• Prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
• Support a Leidos multidisciplinary team on projects.
