Job summary
ICF is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to support our growing transmission engineering practice. This role provides senior‑level technical expertise, leads complex design and analysis, mentors junior engineers, and ensures high‑quality deliverables for utility clients in a fully remote US position.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in transmission design, PLS‑CADD, and regulatory compliance, with a proactive, home-office capable work style and a client‑first mindset.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience with a utility, EPC, or engineering firm; PLS-CADD experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead transmission line designs from concept to final design, including analyses per standards.
- Provide senior‑level technical leadership and ensure design quality.
- Perform key engineering studies (conductor economics, lightning, grounding, clearance).
- Interpret regulatory requirements (NERC, FERC, regional).
- Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
