Job summary

ICF Power Delivery Services seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to advance our transmission practice. You will lead complex design and analysis, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high-quality deliverables for utility clients.

This fully remote role emphasizes innovation, technical rigor, and client‑first service. You will tackle conceptual to final designs, perform critical studies, and ensure regulatory compliance across projects while collaborating with project managers and clients.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or related field)
• 5+ years of transmission line engineering experience (design, analysis, modeling, or similar)
• 5+ years of experience working with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm
• 5+ years of experience working in PLS‑CADD

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from conceptual engineering through final design, including EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.
• Provide senior-level technical expertise ensuring accuracy, best practices, and leading design solutions.
• Perform conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance, grounding calculations, and clearance determinations per NESC/standards.
• Interpret and apply regulatory requirements including NERC, FERC, and regional standards for project deliverables.
• Prepare and review specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, construction support, and change orders.
• Perform QA/QC for engineering deliverables, CAD outputs, and construction administration activities.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, and installation reviews for public and private clients.
• Develop and present technical reports, support marketing and business development, and build client relationships.
