Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to lead design efforts, provide technical direction, and manage project cost and schedule for power delivery projects, including renewable interconnections.

The role requires a PE license, ABET-accredited engineering degree, and 8+ years of transmission line experience at 69kV or higher. Collaboration with clients and multi-discipline teams is essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years of electrical utility transmission line design experience at 69kV+.
• Knowledge of transmission line components, rights-of-way, sag/tension, and grounding.
• Experience with project cost estimating and proposals.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and coordinate with multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline work for transmission line projects with oversight of budgets and schedules.
• Provide technical direction on complex engineering problems and design packages.
• Develop proposals and assist with cost estimating for projects.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, designers, and contractors on site visits.
• Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and reports for deliverables.
• Mentor and oversee junior designers and draftspersons.
