Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks an experienced Transmission Construction Representative Senior SG8 to lead on-site construction of transmission lines and stations in Hurricane, WV. You will manage safety, compliance, and project execution while coordinating with environmental and procurement teams.

Required are a related engineering degree and 6+ years in project/construction management in the electric industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management science with emphasis on project/construction management or related field with 6+ years in the electric industry.
• OR an associate degree with 8+ years of project/construction management/oversight in electric industry.
• OR high school diploma with 10+ years in electric industry or project oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction site management for transmission station and line construction to meet budget, schedule, and scope.
• Oversee compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and safety standards.
• Ensure QA/QC against engineering specs and provide progress updates to the project team.
• Coordinate with environmental teams to ensure SWPPP and environmental permits compliance.
• Review drawings and field issues; provide feedback and resolve construction-related problems.
• Develop material and equipment plans and ensure timely delivery to meet milestones.
