Job summary

American Electric Power in Hurricane, West Virginia seeks a Transmission Construction Representative Senior SG8 to lead on-site transmission line and station construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule and coordinating with multiple internal groups and contractors.

You’ll oversee OSHA compliance, manage permits, review civil and electrical drawings, plan materials and equipment delivery, and supervise crews, driving project success from planning through closeout while adhering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field with 6+ years PM experience
• OR Associate degree with 8 years electric industry PM experience
• OR High school with 10 years related experience in electric industry

Responsibilities

• Provide construction site management for transmission station and line projects, ensuring budget, schedule and scope adherence
• Oversee OSHA compliance and conduct safety observations and meetings
• Coordinate environmental permits and SWPPP compliance with regulators and teams
• Coordinate landowner, ROW and permitting activities and ensure proper closures at project end
• Review drawings and provide feedback; resolve construction or engineering issues on site
• Plan material and equipment needs, scheduling deliveries and inventory on site
• Support outage planning, resource coordination, and contractor oversight
• Provide training and coaching to junior team members
