Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a Principal Construction Manager to lead and coordinate construction activities for Link Light Rail extensions in a hybrid Seattle setting. You will oversee staff, manage budgets, and ensure contract compliance across design-bid-build and design-build methods.

The role requires civil/engineering leadership with 5+ years in transit projects, and offers comprehensive benefits and a strong growth path within the CM Division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or closely related field.
• Five years of construction management experience including heavy civil, buildings, and underground structures.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.
• Knowledge of contract administration and design management practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise staff; assign work and manage schedules and programs.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
• Oversee construction management activities for multiple projects and ensure contract compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants and external partners through planning and pre-construction phases.
• Ensure safety, quality, and budget adherence across projects.
