Job summary

Sound Transit seeks a senior civil engineer leader to oversee the West Seattle Link Extension design efforts and related projects within the Capital Delivery Department. You will coordinate large design consultant teams and partner with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and other agencies to deliver value-driven design.

This hybrid, full-time role requires a PE license (WA) or Architectural license, a strong background in rail or transit design, and proven leadership in budgets, schedules and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Five years civil engineering/architectural design and construction experience.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management.
• Professional Civil Engineer license or Professional Architect license issued by the State of Washington.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large civil engineering design teams coordinating with operations, safety and other staff.
• Administer engineering consultant contracts including reviews, schedules, budgets and risk assessments.
• Plan and negotiate formal third-party agreements and permits for corridor projects.
• Provide design support during construction and manage design-related changes.
• Communicate with leadership, participate in boards and policy compliance.
