Job summary

Sound Transit seeks an experienced construction manager to lead and supervise operations and maintenance building projects across rail and bus programs. This role requires coordinating with staff, consultants, and field teams to ensure design-bid-build and design-build project success.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction background, strong leadership, and budgetary skills, plus experience with safety and regulatory compliance in transit construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Five years of construction management experience including heavy civil, buildings, and underground structures.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to inspect active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work of assigned staff and projects.
• Provide construction management direction and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants and manage onsite inspections.
• Develop and administer program budgets and forecast funds.
• Ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of projects.
