Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mid-Atlantic Traffic Engineering Lead to provide programmatic and technical leadership for traffic engineering disciplines and to deliver a range of contracts and projects across the Mid-Atlantic region.

You will guide program growth, engage with clients, manage scopes and fees, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with multiple disciplines to ensure successful delivery of ITS, signing and markings plans and traffic signal projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• VA/DC/MD PE license.
• Experience with large interchanges and highways.
• Projects for VDOT, MDOT or DDOT.
• Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SignCAD, MicroStation, GuideSign, ORD, VISSIM, Transmodeler.
• Advanced certifications such as PTOE, AICP, RSP1, or RSP2.
• Mid-Atlantic residency preferred (VA/MD/DC).

Responsibilities

• Provide programmatic and technical leadership for traffic engineering disciplines.
• Deliver project management for traffic engineering projects and contracts.
• Guide program growth, client engagement and industry involvement.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing and business development.
• Prepare scopes and fees for contracts and projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on staffing and priorities.
• Contract management and mentorship of junior staff.
• Deliver PS&E plans for traffic signals, ITS, signing and markings.
