Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mid-Atlantic Traffic Engineering Lead to provide programmatic and technical leadership for traffic engineering disciplines. You will manage complex projects, guide growth and client relations, and support marketing and proposal activities.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering, a PE license in VA/DC/MD, and proficiency with industry software. The position emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, mentorship of staff, and active participation in HDR’s

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges.
• PE license in VA, DC or MD.
• Large project experience, such as interstates, freeways and highways.
• Experience on projects for VDOT, MDOT or DDOT.
• Knowledge of traffic planning tools and software is required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide programmatic and technical leadership for traffic engineering disciplines.
• Deliver project management for a variety of traffic engineering related projects and contracts.
• Guide program growth, client engagement and industry involvement.
• Establish client relations and be involved with marketing and client development activities.
• Prepare scopes and fees for a variety of contracts and projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on staff assignments and priorities.
• Contract management.
• Team growth and mentorship of junior staff.
• Perform other duties as needed.
