HDR is seeking a Mid-Atlantic Traffic Engineering Lead to drive program leadership, deliver complex traffic projects, and mentor staff within HDR’s Transportation Business Group. The role emphasizes client engagement, coordination across disciplines, and proactive management of scopes, fees, and contracts.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in traffic engineering, VA/MD/DC licensure, and experience with major interchanges, toll roads, ITS, and related design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 10+ years in traffic engineering for urban/rural highways and interchanges.
• Professional registration/licensing may be required based on role.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide programmatic and technical leadership for traffic engineering disciplines.
• Deliver project management for traffic engineering contracts and projects.
• Guide program growth, client engagement and industry involvement.
• Prepare scopes and fees for contracts and projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on staffing and priorities.
• Contract management and team mentorship of junior staff.
