Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead design and oversight across roadway, lighting, signing, and traffic management systems. You will contribute to intersection design, capacity analyses, and signal warrant analyses while guiding a team of professionals.

The role requires a PE license and 10+ years of ITS experience, with proficiency in HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic, and related software. This position is based in the Mid-Atlantic region with opportunities to impact transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and PE license required.
• 10+ years of ITS and traffic engineering experience.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and related software.
• Experience with major interchanges and urban/rural highway design.

Responsibilities

• Provide design oversight for roadway, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals and traffic management system design plans.
• Assist in oversight of traffic control and sequencing plans during construction.
• Serve as technical expert resolving complex problems and guiding project activities.
• Organize and supervise medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.
• Serve as project manager on larger projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
