Job summary

Nextpower Inc. seeks a Lead Tool Technician Mechanic to act as the senior technical authority for installation tooling and field support programs across customer sites.

You will plan, deploy, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain tooling systems with a focus on safe, reliable field execution. You will lead technical workshops, diagnose complex issues, translate schematics into actionable field instructions, and provide hands-on coaching and training to customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience supporting installation tooling, field service, or maintenance in industrial/construction environments.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals and apply root-cause analysis.
• Experience leading technical work at active construction or industrial sites with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills for training customers and coordinating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical resource for installation tooling and field deployment.
• Plan, schedule, and execute setup, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of tool-support workshops.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related problems.
• Translate schematics and service documentation into field instructions and corrective actions.
• Lead safety documentation, site safety plans, and EH&S compliance.
• Provide technical coaching and training to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain service records, parts usage, and equipment inventories.
• Travel up to 100% to support multiple sites.
