Job summary

Nextpower seeks a Lead Tool Technician Mechanic to act as the senior technical authority for installation tooling and field tool-support programs. You will lead planning, deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of tooling systems at customer sites and construction sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in installation tooling or related environments.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting complex equipment and implementing safe corrective actions.
• Experience leading technical work at active sites with limited supervision.
• Experience delivering technical training and mentoring technicians.
• Knowledge of field safety practices and EH&S requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical resource for installation tooling and field deployment activities.
• Plan, schedule, and execute tool workshops and field equipment setup and demobilization.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls problems using schematics and manuals.
• Translate tooling docs into clear field instructions and corrective actions.
• Lead field tool-support activities with owners, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Forecast tooling demand, schedules, staffing, and equipment availability with management.
• Provide technical leadership and formal training to customers and staff.
• Develop preventive-maintenance guides and checklists to improve reliability.
• Capture observations and communicate recommendations to Engineering and Operations.
