Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Lead Tool Technician Mechanic to serve as the senior technical authority for installation tooling and field tool-support programs. The role drives planning, deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement across customer sites.

The candidate will lead technical work, train staff, and ensure safe, reliable field execution, with extensive travel and strong collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Maintenance Technology, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in installation tooling, construction equipment, field service, or related technical environment.
• Advanced working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems with the ability to read schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical resource for installation tooling, tool-support workshops, and field deployment activities.
• Plan, schedule, and execute delivery, setup, commissioning, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of tool-support workshops and field equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related problems using schematics and manuals.
• Translate tooling literature into clear field instructions and corrective actions.
• Lead safety documentation and site EH&S compliance for multiple sites.
