Job summary

Nextpower seeks a Lead Tool Technician Mechanic to serve as the advanced authority for installation tooling and field tool-support programs. You will lead planning, deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of tooling systems at customer sites, guiding customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

You will address hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues, translating technical information into practical field solutions while promoting safe, reliable field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in tool installation, field service, or related technical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience leading technical work at active sites with limited supervision.
• Experience developing or delivering technical training.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical resource for installation tooling and field deployment activities, resolving complex equipment issues.
• Plan, schedule, and execute delivery, setup, commissioning, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of tool-support workshops and field equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related problems using schematics and manuals.
• Translate tooling information into clear field instructions and corrective actions.
• Create and review EH&S documentation including Job Hazard Analyses and safety plans.
• Lead field tool-support activities with owners, customers, and cross-functional teams.
• Forecast tooling demand, schedules, staffing, and equipment availability with management.
