Job summary

GE Aerospace's Intergalactic division seeks a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to drive analytical modeling and system architecture across aerospace programs. You will lead thermal modeling, correlate test data, and maintain system models while coordinating with cross-functional teams and customers.

The role requires deep thermal-fluid expertise, MATLAB/Python proficiency, NX CAD experience, and strong communication skills; remote or on-site in Utah is possible, with competitive compensation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; 8–10 years of experience; advanced degrees may satisfy part of experience.
• Deep expertise in thermal-fluid sciences (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer).
• Experience with thermal-fluid systems analysis, modeling, and numerical solvers.

Responsibilities

• Assist System Engineer in developing system architecture and technical approach for thermal and controls analysis.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to thermal performance.
• Lead modeling/analysis activities and coordinate with other engineering groups.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineer and Program Manager to ensure successful modeling, analysis, and testing development.
• Manage thermal and performance requirements and support verification/validation activities.
• Decompose high-level requirements to lower-level specs for internal teams and suppliers.
• Research investments to improve Intergalactic’s products and services.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers during design development.
• Review and approve documentation for transition from prototype to production.
