Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team. You will advance thermal hardware for the Lunar Permanence program, driving designs through build, test, and verification for safe human spaceflight.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in heat transfer, CFD, and thermal analysis, plus CAD experience (Creo). Relocation is provided; travel up to 20% will be expected, with a culture of safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience.
• Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals.
• Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, radiators, and other spacecraft hardware.
• Experience designing, sizing, building, and/or testing hardware.
• Basic experience with CAD software; preferably Creo.
• Experience with CFD methods for component-level analysis.
• Experience with thermal analysis software tools such as Thermal Desktop, FloCAD, MATLAB, Python scripting, CFD++, Ansys Fluent.

Responsibilities

• Apply thermal analysis to Lunar vehicle architectures and hardware.
• Lead/participate in design reviews, build, test, and verification cycles.
• Collaborate across functions to deliver safe, reliable thermal solutions for spaceflight.
