Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team in WA. You will apply your thermal analysis expertise to lunar vehicle architectures and drive designs through build, test, and verification.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will develop and size hardware such as heat exchangers, cold plates, radiators, and related systems, contributing to safe human spaceflight and advancing lunar infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 5+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience
• Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals
• Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, radiators, and other common spacecraft hardware
• Experience designing, sizing, building, and/or testing hardware
• Basic experience with CAD software; preferably Creo
• Experience with computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation methods for component-level analysis
• Experience with thermal analysis software tools such as Thermal Desktop, FloCAD, MATLAB, Python scripting, CFD++, Ansys Fluint
• Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver results
