Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Head Teller to coordinate branch customer service, supervision of teller functions, and accurate cash handling. You will balance cash, resolve complex customer issues, and support sales referrals while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.

The role requires 3+ years in customer service, 2+ years in teller work, and a high school diploma or GED (a finance degree is a plus).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service experience.
• 2+ years teller or cash handling experience.
• 1 year of retail banking experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise teller operations including staffing, audits, and performance inputs.
• Provide prompt, professional customer service and resolve complex issues.
• Operate teller drawer and handle advanced cash transactions and discrepancies.
• Identify root causes of issues and implement resolutions.
• Cross-sell and refer products; maintain currency and vault accuracy.
