Job summary

Community Bank, N.A. seeks a Senior Teller to lead teller and transaction operations in the branch, coaching staff to ensure exceptional customer service and operational accuracy. This role acts as a subject‑matter expert and supports branch goals while overseeing cash operations and safety procedures.

The Senior Teller will train frontline staff, monitor adherence to policies, and participate in meetings and training. Occasional travel to nearby branches may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong internal knowledge of bank products, services, and operational procedures
• Reliable transportation
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage customer professionally
• Strong attention to detail with accurate and proficient math skills
• Clear thinking and sound judgement in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment
• Ability to understand directions and adhere to established policy and procedures
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to influence and coach without direct supervisory authority
• Thorough knowledge of bank products and services

• Minimum three (3) years of teller experience normally required

Responsibilities

• Lead frontline staff with daily guidance and coaching on procedures and service standards.
• Maintain visible presence in the transactional area and give immediate feedback.
• Ensure policies, security, cash handling and customer relationship standards are followed.
• Assist in training new frontline employees and support ongoing skill development.
• Support change and adopt new tools, processes, and initiatives.
• Participate in branch meetings, training, and travel to locations as needed.
• Coordinate workflow and ensure coverage across all transaction areas.
• Make overrides on low-risk transactions within authority and escalate as needed.
• Oversee branch cash operations including vault cash and ATM (if applicable).
• Balance branch cash and reconcile discrepancies.
• Manage Federal Reserve cash shipments and orders.
• Maintain knowledge of ATM balancing and procedures.
• Enforce cash controls, dual control, and security protocols to reduce risk.
• Monitor for unusual or suspicious activity and prevent fraud or loss.
• Assist with account opening/maintenance and service requests as needed.
• Prepare regulatory, internal, and operational reports.
• Participate in audits and maintain compliance with laws and policies.
• Keep up with training requirements timely.
• Travel to nearby branches as required to support staffing and business needs.
