Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a seasoned Technical Writer for a remote, U.S.-based role in the Veterans Affairs space. The position requires 10+ years of experience in producing high-quality publications and an ability to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly documents.

You will write and edit reports, manuals, briefs, and proposals, coordinate with SMEs, PgMs, and engineers, and ensure adherence to standards and schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, editing, and maintaining technical publications
• Strong written and verbal communication with high attention to detail
• Translate complex technical information into clear, concise documentation
• Experience collaborating with SMEs, PgMs, engineers, and stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document collaboration tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and good judgment
• Experience editing and coordinating the work of multiple writers
• Knowledge of technical publication standards and style guides
• Experience supporting proposal development, government contracting, defense, engineering, technology or professional services
• Familiarity with content management systems and workflow tools
• Experience developing SOPs, training materials, or user guides
• Experience with document layout and publishing tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and customer engagements
• Self-motivated with strong customer-service orientation
• Adapt to changing priorities and business requirements
• Commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
