Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management (Remote-Eligible) to lead programs delivering large-scale platforms and cross-functional initiatives across Card Intelligent Decisions & Experiences. You will drive TPM strategy, align roadmaps with business goals, and coach teams toward measurable outcomes.

The role requires distributed systems expertise, cloud experience (AWS preferred), Agile delivery, and a proven track record of TPM maturity at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
• Experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or SOA.
• 3+ years building distributed systems and highly available services in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• 3+ years of Agile delivery experience.
• 3+ years delivering large and complex programs with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in regulated environments.
• PMP/Lean/Agile/Six Sigma certifications.
• 3+ years of people management or IC influence.
• Experience driving platform standardization and TPM maturity at scale.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to TPM / Delivery strategy and establish scalable operating mechanisms.
• Drive program roadmaps aligned to business objectives and technical solutions.
• Lead cross-platform investment planning and ensure architectural alignment.
• Serve as executive escalation point for program risks and tradeoffs.
• Define measurable platform outcomes and ensure accountability across teams.
