Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management (Remote-Eligible) to lead large-scale programs across the Card Tech+ platform. You’ll drive TPM strategy, mentor teams, and align roadmaps with business goals while advancing an expanding TPM discipline within the organization.

You’ll partner with senior tech leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-velocity platforms, with emphasis on availability, cost efficiency, and regulatory considerations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field is preferred.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• 3+ years of people management experience or influencing organization as an IC.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the organization’s TPM / Delivery strategy: establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling that scale across portfolios.
• Drive development of and alignment on program roadmap anchored in business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and sequencing of dependencies.
• Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse.
• Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks, influencing technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost and resiliency.
• Ensure definition of measurable outcomes of platform success (availability, scalability, cost efficiency, developer velocity) and ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams.
