Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management (Remote-Eligible) to lead programs that deliver major business goals and build large-scale products and platforms. You will help expand the TPM discipline within the team by sharing industry knowledge and guiding senior leaders.

The role requires guiding cross-functional teams, aligning with business objectives, and driving platform convergence while maintaining high standards for availability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years of experience managing technical programs.
• 7+ years designing and building solutions using distributed computing or SOA.
• 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing (preferably AWS).
• 3+ years experience building scalable products & platforms.
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
• 3+ years delivering large and complex programs with cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience in regulated environments.
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
• 3+ years of people management or IC influence.
• Experience driving platform standardization across portfolios.
• Track record of TPM maturity at scale.
• Exceptional communication and influence skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to TPM/Delivery strategy: establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling.
• Drive program roadmap aligned to business objectives, deliverables, and dependencies.
• Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment.
• Serve as executive escalation point for risks and data-driven tradeoffs.
• Ensure measurable outcomes and delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams.
