Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director, Project Management for the Mountain Pacific Region to lead major transportation programs in the Pacific Northwest. You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure contract/compliance obligations are met.

You will develop proposals, cost estimates, and resource plans, while guiding project managers on budget tracking, ETCs, and invoicing. Strong PM credentials and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant post education experience with 5+ years in transit/ transportation projects.
• Proficient understanding of project delivery within A/E/C industry; strong PM background.
• Essential PM certification or equivalent (PMP, CAP-M).
• Analytical and organizational skills with business acumen.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with leadership.
• Able to coordinate resources with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and PM tools (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Power BI).
• Safety-focused and able to adhere to policies.

Responsibilities

• Support major transportation programs and projects.
• Oversee cross-functional teams to manage budgets, hours, expenses, and contractual obligations.
• Assist in proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans.
• Support budget development, ETCs, recoveries, and invoicing.
• Assist change management, scope changes, and quality management.
• Develop contract change orders and subcontract amendments.
• Maintain client communications, reporting, and scope/budget impacts.
• Provide project management reporting and QA/QC guidance.
• Monitor progress, claims, and invoicing/payments.
• Develop project initiation/setup documentation (RMP, PMP, QP, PSP).
• Lead project management staff and ensure ethical use of company funds.
