Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director, Project Management for the Mountain Pacific Region to lead major transportation programs and oversee multi-disciplinary teams across projects. The role supports budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance while driving client communications and contract compliance.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 12+ years’ post‑grad experience with 5+ years in transit projects, and PMP/CAP‑M certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience with 5+ years in transit/ transportation projects.
  • Proficient understanding of project delivery in A/E/C with strong project management background.
  • Essential project management certification or equivalent (PMP, CAP-M).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with business acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross‑level interaction.
  • Self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee cross-functional teams of technical professionals to execute project work, including budgets, hours, expenses, and contractual obligations.
  • Support development of proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Assist with budget development, ETCs, recovery plans, and invoicing.
  • Support change management and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist in developing contract change orders and subcontract documentation.
  • Maintain client communications with periodic reporting on status, safety incidents, risks, and budget impacts.
  • Provide project management reporting tools and ongoing support to projects.
