Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University(VCU) Technology Services is a central IT organization supportingthe academic, research, and administrative missions of theuniversity. Technology Services provides scalable, secure, andinnovative technology solutions to all VCU units.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide frontline support and assist Media Support Services withmaintenance of classroom AV and PC instructional technology asdirected, and confirm subsequent system functionality; providetechnical advice; and provide end user training. Offices located onVCU’s Academic and Medical Campus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Engage regularly with end users to provide training andsupport.
• Coordinate efforts between departments.
• Must have the ability to work on various projects at any onetime, solve problems as they come up and complete an assigned taskon time.
• Must be a self-motivated worker capable of workingindependently to complete tasks efficiently - withoutsupervision.
• Occasionally will be required to pick up equipment that canweigh up to 25 lbs.
• Must be detail oriented and organized.
• Must have a working knowledge of common software applicationsfor word processing and spreadsheets.
• Must have good interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability towork with people. Must have demonstrated ability to communicateclearly both orally and in writing.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred experience installing and troubleshootingProfessional AV systems.
• Must have the ability to identify and troubleshootfunctionality and signal path issues in multimedia AV systems.
