Job summary

Talent With Heart in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation with external preparers and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You'll continuously improve tax processes, controls, and service levels, working with auditors and management to address notices and inquiries while expanding coverage to sales, property, payroll taxes, and incentives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Motivated and take-charge attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching and supervision.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Respond to notices from taxing authorities.
• Research and deliver tax information to management and outside parties.
• Support related areas including sales, property, payroll tax, and incentives.
• Map and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
