Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Phoenix seeks a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function, lead the ASC 740 provision, and supervise return work with internal staff and external preparers. You will coach a team of tax accountants and drive efficiency and controls across the tax process.

The role requires a 6+ year tax background, a Bachelor's in Accounting, advanced Excel, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment.
Advanced Excel skills are required.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with interpersonal and communication abilities.
A motivated, take-charge attitude.
CPA, Master's in Taxation or related manufacturing/retail/insurance/mortgage experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
Work directly with internal and external auditors.
Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
Support related areas as needed, including sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives.
Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
